Are artificial plants sustainable?.

Are artificial plants and trees sustainable? It is worth knowing, because sustainability means less strain on our environment. Artificial plants certainly are sustainable. They are a perfect way to enjoy greenery without putting extra pressure on the environment.

Buying artificial plants? A sustainable choice for home and office

Fake plants and artificial trees last a long time, and you never have to water or feed them. The manufacturing process of an artificial plant happens once. Real flowers are grown in heated greenhouses, a process that sometimes takes up to 6 weeks. Imitation plants are therefore a conscious and sustainable choice for home and the office.

• No long growing process: where real flowers and plants are grown in a heated greenhouse, artificial plants need only a one-off production process. Far less energy is used along the way. That is better for the environment.
• No water or feed needed: imitation plants need no watering and no feeding. Not during growing, and not during maintenance either. The only water fake plants use is for cleaning the leaves.
• No pesticides: to prevent disease, real plants and flowers are treated with pesticides while being grown. With fake plants or artificial flowers that is not necessary. That is not only less taxing for the environment but also better for health.
• Long lifespan: artificial plants last far longer than real plants or flowers. With good care and cleaning, they have a lifespan of 8 to 10 years.
