Artificial philodendron: a tropical foliage plant without the worry

The philodendron belongs to the Araceae family and has more than 489 registered species. The name comes from Greek: "philo" means love and "dendron" means tree. Loosely translated: the tree lover. That fits, because in the wild philodendrons climb up tree trunks in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America.

Most philodendron species have large, heart-shaped leaves. In real life the leaves are deep dark green with a leathery texture. As a houseplant the philodendron grows fast and can attach itself to furniture and walls with its aerial roots.

Our artificial version is available from 90 to 150 cm. The leaves are made of real touch material with visible veining and a natural sheen. The heart shape is reproduced exactly. The stem is sturdy and the plant comes in a plastic inner pot.

A real philodendron is a fast grower. That sounds positive, but it also means regular pruning, repotting and staking. The aerial roots head off in all directions. Our artificial version keeps whatever shape you give it after unpacking.

Please note: the real philodendron is toxic to cats and dogs (calcium oxalate crystals in the leaves). Our artificial version contains no toxic substances. Even so, we advise against letting pets chew on the leaves.
